The Independent Film Trust – Elevate Writers Room

Brought to you by the Ascend Collective and The Independent Film Trust, Elevate is a 7 week scriptwriters course running from April 5th to May 21st that aims to provide ethnically diverse female and non-binary scriptwriters with tools to help them elevate to the next professional stage in their careers. 3 screenwriters will be chosen to work withJanet Awe, focusing on key elements such as writer’s voice, structure, storylines and characters, in order to craft their script into a professional piece ready for submitting to agents, production companies and/or commissioners. Earn one of the 60 places on The Network and you’ll spend 4 days learning practical TV making skills from top programme makers, giving you a taster of what it’s really like to work in television. The Network takes place in Edinburgh in August every year. The scheme is completely free (including your accommodation and food).
