Saima Mir is an award-winning journalist and writer. Former BBC journalist, her work has appeared in several publications including The Guardian, The Times, The Independent, and Stylist.

Her essay “A Woman of Substance” from “It’s Not About the Burqa”, went viral after it appeared in Guardian Weekend in January 2019.

Her debut novel, “The Khan” was released in 2021 and published by Point Blank. It has been optioned by BBC Studios.

Saima serves as a co-Chair on the BFI’s Screen Advisory Group.
